Mir A’li Shir Nava’i or Nizam al-Din A’li Shir or Mir A’li Shir Nava’i or A’li Shir Beg (1441-1501) is known as the most powerful poet and writer of Chagatai literature. Mir A’li Shir Nava’i can be described as a Turkish lover. The Turkish works he wrote gave life to the Turkish language. Turkish is the source of life for Mir A’li Shir Nava’i. Turkish language is the life philosophy for Mir A’li Shir Nava’i. Mir A’li Shir Nava’i is a wise writer and poet. He is a well-equipped diplomat and political leader.

Mir A’li Shir Nava’i has created around 30 works. The works he translated from Persian show that he knows Persian very well. It has a Divan of Persian poems. Mir A’li Shir Nava’i’s works were very popular in his era. That is why his works have been copied so much. His works have been read in Central Asia, Middle East, Anatolia and the Balkans. Mir A’li Shir Nava’i is undoubtedly the name that comes to mind when it comes to Chagatai literature. Libraries of the world are full of copies of his works. One of these libraries is the British Library in London. The British Library is considered quite rich in terms of Chagatai manuscripts. About 30 Nava’i manuscripts are preserved in the British Library. In this review and research, the Nava’i manuscripts in the British Library were introduced. The status of Nava’i manuscripts is discussed in detail.
