English literature of the eighteenth and nineteeth centuries is abundant in issues concerning women and their life in the Regency and Victorian society. The goal of this book is to look into the main typologies of feminine behaviour as reflected in some major novels such as Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre and Vanity Fair. The critical approach reveals the characteristics of feminine role models manifested through marriage, social class and economic status with a psychological and cultural insight.
